Project Overview
While at MSA, I played a key role in bringing the creative vision of the annual Reds Opening Day mailer to life. The mailer not only showcases the talent of MSA’s graphics team but also reinforces a broader marketing message—this year’s edition celebrating Cincinnati Reds legend Joey Votto. The mailers are distributed to clients, partners, consultants, employees, and new prospects, serving as both a marketing touchpoint and a celebration of MSA’s role as the official architects of the Reds. As part of the campaign, MSA continues its tradition of giving staff the day off to attend the game, while also inviting partners, friends, and family to join in the festivities, strengthening connections and promoting community engagement.

Red’s Opening Day Mailer
Joey Votto: The Most Interesting Man in Baseball
Done in collaboration with Hannah Williams (designer) and the MSA marketing team, my primarily role was to translate the creative direction into the print mailer showcased above. I experimented with typography, duotone image treatment, color pallete, and organization to arrive at the final design. Reminiscient of an old baseball card, the style is meant to feel nostalgic, but still in line with the MSA brand.Message from Marketing
JoVo. Votto-matic. Votto the Viking. He may have endless nicknames, but there is only one Joey Votto. Premiering in MLB with the Reds in 2007, he’s been the city’s golden boy for 16 years. He didn’t just hit home runs, he smashed a grand slam straight into the heart of Reds fans and the city of Cincinnati. In honor of his tenure with the Redlegs, we are celebrating all things Votto—his legacy on the field, the man behind the hits and runs, his impact on our city, and how he fits into Reds history. With a career like JV’s, it is undeniable he deserves a spot in the Reds and MLB Halls of Fame.
