Interdisciplinary Co-op Project
Groove Gardens is the product of a semester-long design sprint meant to encourage interdisciplinary work and push our creative boundaries. The project was a true collaboration between graphic designers and architects. Given nothing but an empty lot with a mural overlooking it, we were tasked with designing 2–3 structures and an outdoor recreational space. No existing brands were to be used, and keeping the mural was optional. We collectively decided the mural would be the inspiration for our design, using its tribute to Cincinnati’s musical history as the foundation for the identities of the newly imagined businesses. Graphic Design work was done in collaboration with Katie Lutmer, and architecture by Sophia Ball.
